I think I’ve found my wife’s next car. She even loves it too. Only thing I don’t like about it is the interior color. I would prefer the black on tan interior, especially with such a light exterior color. I also think the asking price is a tad high, but we’’ll see.

Just to throw a wrench in the works, how about the CC? It’s about an inch longer, inch and a half wider, and two inches lower.

Both solid choices. Both DSG, just keep doing the service intervals and they’re both great cars. DSG service ain’t cheap, but it isn’t exactly difficult either. It’s about 400 from a dealer or about 175 worth of materials and an afternoon of work with the DIY tutorials.

Where did the 35 MPG come from for the TDI? I would expect that its actually low 40s for highway driving.

On the Passat:

1.) 35 MPG is dogshit if they are talking highway. It should be damn near 10 MPG higher

2.) If you buy it, get the headlights re-aimed

3.) Ask if it’s had a replacement turbo and if it’s up on its recalls.
